We love this poster for David's show on Friday in Eau Claire, WI. When I saw the poster I thought "That is cool!". It reminded me a little of a painting I made a long time ago.

Poster designed by Brenna Signe

I went to my friend Christa's house last night to take a picture of the painting I made. I made it about 7 years ago. I went through a time when I painting several paintings that reminded me of God, or just things I was going through in life.

I remember painting it super fast. I used gold, white and umber red. Gold symbolized the power and majesty of God, white for purity, and umber symbolized the blood of Christ. I made the cross in the center, to symbolize Christ's love and forgiveness. For some reason I made an 'X' in the center of the cross. I remember liking that letter but I didn't know why, other than there is a tiny 'x' in the center of both of my hands.

I hadn't thought much about naming the painting until a friend of mine said it reminded her of glory, so I that is what I named it - "Glory". I was going through an awesome time in my life where I was falling in love with Jesus, at the time I painted it.

So, back to the show poster. It makes me think God wants to glorify Himself through David's life, oh, and Castles too.

Almost Missed A Blessing

My friend Rosemary called me up a couple Mondays ago and asked if I wanted to go to the zoo with her and her daughter, Isabel. I immediately responded, without really praying about it, "No, I am too busy, I have so much to do." But I started praying about it as I was still on the phone with her. I didn't want to miss a blessing from God. She has a zoo pass, so I was going to get in for free. I felt really stressed out that day and a trip to the zoo sounded really refreshing. I asked her if I could call her back in a few minutes because I wanted to talk to my husband about it.

He agreed that a break would be good for me. On Mondays I get easily stressed and try to do way more than I need to do. So, I called her back and said, "Yes, I would love to go to the zoo! Thanks for inviting me!".

She picked me up and we went to the zoo for about an hour and a half. It was so fun to see all the animals. My favorites were the butterflies, a mommy and baby tiger snuggling, a tiny mouse, and an arctic puffin. Right when we were about to leave it started sprinkling, and then it was raining hard by the time we were almost to the car. Perfect timing! What a fun time!

I have learned that one can easily miss a blessing from God. A good daily prayer is "Lord, help me not miss any blessings from you today!"

A ground squirrel (I think). It was running around. Wasn't too scared of people.

Isabel chasing the ground squirrel...he's on the rock (next level up). Can you see him?

A butterfly. I love the colors in this pic.

This was my favorite butterfly there. His body is chubby. He's adorable.

This was fascinating! Cocoons and hatching butterflies. A sign said most butterflies live for only 3 weeks!

A tiny mouse. This wasn't a zoo animal but we found him on the ground, playing with a bite sized snickers wrapper.

The Zipper Story

This morning, I went to put my soft lavender hoodie on. It usually takes awhile to get the zipper to zip, but this morning it took an extra long time. I probably tried about 30 times to zip the zipper. Could have been 50 actually. A few times, I prayed a quick "God help me!" and I got frustrated my quick prayer did not work. I have many other hoodies I could have grabbed, but I really wanted to wear this one.

Then, after spending about 8 minutes and getting frustrated, I paused and prayed a prayer that worked wonders. I said, "Lord, please zip this hoodie for me, and just use me as a vessel." I tried to zip it and instantly and smoothly it zipped up with no problem. It was so cool! I thanked God so much.

Sweet Luxuries

Sweet Luxuries is a small bakery owned by Heather Davis. She is a friend of a friend of mine. I spoke with her on the phone a couple of months ago. She had called me to ask me a question about PayPal since I used to work at PayPal. We had a super nice talk on the phone. This is when I found out about her bakery business.

She was inspiring to talk to. She helped me have greater faith in the things that God is calling us to do. She also said that I need to try her lemon bars and that she would be sending me some... all the way from Houston, Texas. I was so excited!

I received her lemon bars in the mail. She was so sweet and generous for sending them. When I received them, it was such a blessing! They were packaged beautifully with a sweet little note! And they taste so good! Sometimes I would pick one up to eat just half of it and then, I always had the urge to eat the other half. I brought some of them to a party and people there agreed that they were some of the best tasting lemon bars ever.

If you know someone who lives in or near Houston, please let them know about Heather's bakery. She specializes in lemon bars, pecan pralines, key lime pie, pound cake and chocolate chip cookies. And she can ship the goodies to you, even if you live out of state.

Check out her website here:

The lemon bars come packaged like this so you can sprinkle the powdered sugar on them.

The Power of God

God has been showing me that He can and will do more than I could ever ask or imagine.

God is calling my husband and I to do some things and when we take a step and do them, we are amazed at some of the things that God does to help us. We work hard. We take a few steps forward and God takes huge steps to show us He is carrying us most of the way. Again and again, we are continually amazed by the power of God.

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." - Ephesians 3:20
